About the Project
We are looking for a Data Engineer to join a team building a modern customer data and marketing analytics platform. The platform consolidates product events, CRM data, billing records, campaign performance, and operational metrics into trusted datasets for analytics and reporting.
The stack includes Google BigQuery, dbt or Dataform, Airflow, Python, SQL, Fivetran or custom ingestion, Looker Studio or similar BI tools, and Git-based data workflows. The role includes direct communication with international analytics, product, and engineering stakeholders, so strong spoken English is essential.
What You Will Do
- Build and maintain data pipelines for product analytics, CRM, billing, campaign, and operational data.
- Develop BigQuery models, scheduled queries, partitioned tables, clustering strategies, and cost-aware transformations.
- Use dbt or Dataform to create reliable, documented, and tested analytical models.
- Orchestrate data workflows with Airflow, including retries, dependencies, alerts, and backfills.
- Improve data quality through validation checks, freshness monitoring, and anomaly detection rules.
- Collaborate with analysts and product teams on metrics definitions, data marts, and reporting requirements.
- Support dashboards in Looker Studio, Looker, Power BI, or similar tools.
What We Are Looking For
- 3+ years of commercial experience in data engineering.
- Strong SQL skills and hands-on experience with BigQuery or another modern cloud warehouse.
- Experience with dbt, Dataform, or similar transformation frameworks.
- Experience with Airflow, scheduled workflows, data dependencies, and pipeline monitoring.
- Good Python skills for data processing, ingestion scripts, and automation.
- Understanding of data modelling, dimensional models, incremental loads, and data quality practices.
- Strong spoken English - B2+ or higher for clarifying metrics, requirements, and data issues with international teams.
Nice to Have
- Experience with event tracking, GA4, Segment, Amplitude, Mixpanel, or product analytics data.
- Experience with MySQL, PostgreSQL, API ingestion, or CDC pipelines.
- Experience with Terraform, CI/CD for data projects, or data cataloguing tools.
- Experience with marketing, SaaS, fintech, e-commerce, or subscription analytics.
