A Swiss educational startup partnered with Infinity Technologies to disrupt the traditional tutoring industry. Their vision was to create an affordable and school-integrated alternative to expensive tutoring agencies by connecting struggling students with their high-performing peers. The goal was ambitious — not only to enhance academic outcomes but also to introduce a new, scalable revenue stream for schools.
The core challenge was to design and develop a digital platform that could automate the process of matching students who need help with tutors who could offer it. Unlike standard tutoring models, the platform had to accommodate peer tutors — often minors — whose activity needed to be monitored and approved by school administrators. Furthermore, the platform had to account for Switzerland’s decentralized education system, where each school follows its own curriculum. This created a complex requirement: ensuring the right tutors were matched based on curriculum compatibility while also maintaining regulatory and administrative oversight.
Another significant hurdle was defining the role of the headmaster. As a key administrative figure, the headmaster needed to approve tutors, monitor students’ progress, and supervise the entire tutoring engagement — including contractual agreements and payment flows.
Infinity Technologies took on the role of a full-cycle technology partner, guiding the client from product inception through MVP delivery. The collaboration began with a thorough business analysis phase where our dedicated analyst worked closely with the client to clarify goals and build a complete technical roadmap. We designed a system architecture that could scale with growing demand, while ensuring compliance, usability, and cost-efficiency.
The platform was developed over five months and structured around three user roles: student, tutor, and headmaster. Students could view tutor profiles, review class availability, and request sessions directly from their dashboards. If a student wished to become a tutor, they could easily apply through the platform, triggering an approval workflow handled by the school administration. Once approved, the student would gain access to a specialized dashboard to manage tutoring requests, track progress, and oversee the automated contract generation process.
Headmasters were provided with an administrative interface that gave them full control over the tutoring lifecycle. From reviewing and approving tutor applications to tracking student improvement and contract statuses, the system was designed to support responsible governance without adding complexity.
To deliver a responsive and scalable solution, we employed a modern technology stack. The frontend was built using Angular 10 with MobX for state management, while mobile users were supported through Cordova WebView and native Android/iOS development. On the backend, we utilized Java with the Quarkus framework, combined with PostgreSQL for the database and RabbitMQ for message brokering. JasperReports was integrated for customizable reporting, and Stripe handled secure, automated payments — ensuring a seamless user experience and compliant financial operations.
We selected a scalable, future-proof technology stack tailored to the platform’s needs for cross-device accessibility, automation, and reliability.
This architecture ensures the platform is modular, secure, and adaptable to future feature additions — such as AI-based tutor recommendations or third-party curriculum integrations.
Infinity Technologies delivered a robust, intuitive, and future-proof EdTech platform that empowered students, supported educators, and introduced new economic opportunities for Swiss schools. The solution showcased how thoughtful technology implementation — backed by business insight — can unlock real value, both educationally and commercially.
