A Swiss entrepreneur approached Infinity Technologies with a clear but ambitious request: create a digital solution to solve a common local problem — the difficulty of finding affordable, trusted individuals to perform everyday services. From dog walking to 3D design, people in Zurich were struggling to connect directly with reliable freelancers without overpaying for corporate overhead like office space, agency fees, or advertising markups.

The client’s vision was to create a two-sided digital marketplace tailored for Swiss communities. It had to be intuitive, mobile-friendly, and capable of handling a wide range of local services — all while supporting growth from startup to national scale.

Challenges

The platform had to:

• Support both individual service providers and larger service companies
• Provide fast onboarding and verification for performers
• Handle task posting, quoting, matchmaking, real-time messaging, and payments
• Be easily extendable based on real-world user feedback
• Work seamlessly across web and mobile platforms
• Ensure financial transparency and legal compliance, including payment processing and reporting

The product also needed to create trust in a market dominated by intermediaries — that meant implementing a rating system, quote verification, and two-party confirmations to ensure satisfaction and accountability on both sides of a transaction.

Our Approach

Infinity Technologies acted as a long-term technical partner from the very first wireframes to the continued support and iteration of the platform in 2024.

We began with rapid prototyping of the MVP for both web and mobile platforms. The architecture was designed as a two-sided marketplace — where users could sign up as either service requesters or service providers, with an optional third role for digital-first service companies to manage team members and services.

The solution was designed to simplify every step of the user journey:

• Clients select a category, provide a task description, and publish it with preferred time and budget.
• Providers browse a smart feed with tailored tasks, apply via quotes, and engage in private messaging.
• The system handles task confirmations, payments, and reporting, including a full booking history.

We also implemented an admin dashboard for operational control, dispute resolution, and platform analytics.

Technology Stack

Our engineers selected a modern, robust, and mobile-oriented technology stack that would ensure fast MVP delivery with long-term scalability.

Frontend

• Web: Built with React.js and Svelte, enabling dynamic UI updates and modular component reuse.
• Mobile: Developed in React Native, allowing for shared logic across iOS and Android while maintaining native performance.
• State Management: MobX and Redux to manage reactive, consistent UI behavior and business logic.

Backend & APIs

Payment Integration

We built a robust and extensible payment layer using:

• Stripe (Phase 1): Initial payment gateway for secure, cashless transactions.
• Multi-Gateway Support (Phase 2+): Added PayPal, Razorpay, Worldpay, and Square via API-based abstraction layer for global/local compliance.
• Support for split payments, escrow logic, and automated payout scheduling for service providers.

Other Components

• AWS Sendmail for transactional emails (task confirmations, updates, password resets).
• Secure messaging system with end-to-end encryption and moderation-ready architecture.
• Progressive Web App (PWA) support for browser-based mobile usability without installing apps.

All infrastructure was designed with scalability and maintainability in mind, using containerized services and cloud deployment best practices.
