As the world accelerates its transition toward renewable energy, ensuring that solar infrastructure operates at peak performance becomes critical. A client specializing in intelligent energy systems turned to Infinity Technologies to build a platform that could bring real-time monitoring, proactive maintenance, and actionable analytics to solar power installations — from small-scale residential arrays to large commercial systems.
The mission: empower users to monitor their solar power systems remotely and optimize battery performance, energy production, and consumption in real time.
While solar adoption has surged, the tools for system oversight have lagged. Traditional solar monitoring systems often lack real-time analytics, predictive maintenance capabilities, or mobile access — limiting their usefulness for both technical specialists and residential users.
The key challenge was to develop a system that could:
The platform had to be deeply integrated with sensors and long-range communication hardware, and support multiple data protocols while remaining lightweight and fast — both at the edge and in the cloud.
Infinity Technologies developed a cross-platform IoT-enabled solar monitoring solution that provides full visibility into energy generation, consumption, and battery health. Built for both technical users and everyday homeowners, the system delivers precision insights through an intuitive mobile and desktop interface — enabling users to monitor, diagnose, and optimize their solar installations anytime, anywhere.
At its core, the solution collects real-time data from solar panels and batteries via a network of smart sensors. The system receives information such as voltage, current, wattage, battery temperature, and power consumption levels. These values are analyzed and displayed via a responsive application interface that adapts to smartphones, tablets, and PCs.
Data collected includes:
The system uses radio-based Wireless Tunnel gateways with LongRange technology to capture sensor data from distances up to 5 km, enabling centralized monitoring even for distributed installations. For battery health, we integrated BATTMON DC monitoring sensors that provide per-battery readings for voltage, wattage, current, and temperature — offering visibility down to the cell level.
Users can access both real-time views and historical data logs, including:
If any part of the system is underperforming — due to soiling, temperature imbalance, or hardware faults — the user is notified instantly via email or SMS alerts. A visual map layout identifies the specific panel or battery causing the issue.
The system was engineered using proven IoT and analytics technologies, optimized for speed, scalability, and low-power connectivity.
The system is modular and extensible, allowing integration with additional sensors such as:
This makes the platform ready for broader use cases, including industrial solar farms, hybrid grid setups, and remote energy installations.
Within six months, Infinity Technologies delivered a Minimum Viable Product (MVP) that transformed how the client and its customers managed solar infrastructure. The system is now fully operational and provides:
Infinity Technologies built a future-ready solar monitoring solution that brings real-time intelligence to renewable energy systems. By combining IoT hardware, cloud analytics, and mobile UX design, we delivered a platform that empowers users to optimize their solar investments and ensure system health from anywhere in the world.
This project reflects our ability to deliver smart energy, IoT, and sustainability-focused platforms that blend hardware, software, and user experience into seamless ecosystems.
